I host Easter brunch at my house every year. I have some family that fly in and stay for a few days leading up to the holiday. It’s a wonderful time, but it is a lot of work. I host about 18 people. Thankfully, brunch is less complicated than a full blown dinner.
All of our kids dye Easter eggs together a few days beforehand, so needless to say I have an insane amount of hard boiled eggs left over after the fact. So traditionally, I use all of these to make a whole bunch of deviled eggs. They come out amazingly, and the texture is on point because I make them up in my Cuisinart food processor. It combines all of the ingredients perfectly, so everything is balanced out the way it should be.
That’s not the only thing I use my food processor for when it comes to Easter. I use it to make quite a lot of food, and this year I was really looking forward to trying some new recipes. I wanted to make them a few weeks before so my immediate family could taste test them, so I’d have the recipes perfected in time for the holiday.
When I went to pull my food processor out of the closet, I realized my chopping blade wasn’t with it. I was nearly in panic mode. I searched the kitchen drawers, and consulted my whole family about whether or not they had seen the blade anywhere. No one knew anything.
I called my sister-in-law in a panic. I was going to need to borrow her food processor. I couldn’t go out and get a new one in time for the event. She talked me off the ledge, and said that she knew a place where I could get authentic Cuisinart DLC-7 parts. She sent me the link to KitchenWorksUSA, and I got to ordering. I got my precious chopping blade, along with a plastic dough blade, and the shredding disks. They’d be here in just a few days’ time.
Everything arrived, and I was able to test out my new recipes. Everything that I added to the menu needed to be made with the food processor, so I was so relieved that I got what I needed. My new Easter additions were lemon thyme ricotta to spread on bread, an onion tart, pistachio chili pesto, zucchini bread and almond pastries. My family tested them out, and loved each and every one of them. I was ready to go.
When the big day came, brunch went swimmingly. Everyone was pretty impressed by my new recipes. They were all big hits! I was proud of myself, and rightfully so, but I couldn’t have made it happen if I wasn’t able to get those Cuisinart replacement parts.
